Glue Gun & Heat Tool Holder

I have a new series starting today about Craftroom Organisation.   I decided to do this series because everyone always loves how organised my craftroom is and because of the positive feedback I received when I showcased the way I store my sponges.

In this series I will show you:-
  • Storage solutions I have made for organising and/or storing items I have in my craftroom.
  • How I have organised my craftroom so that it works for me.
  • Items I find really useful to have in your craftroom.
I hope you will find some of my craftroom organisation tips in this series helpful.

The first instalment of my new series showcases the holder I made for my glue gun, heat tool, ribbon straighteners, glue sticks and embossing buddy.  To see the post click here

I hope you have a great day today.

Have yourself some crafting fun.

*When designing a project or when I CASE a project I always use my cheap cardstock to make a prototype before making it with my Stampin' Up! cardstock.   I do check the measurements I add to my blog posts but when typing lots of measurements mistakes can be made.  When making any project I recommend making it first with cheap cardstock before using your best cardstock.*

My new Website

I'm bursting with excitement because Lady Dee Crafts finally has a new website and I wanted to share this news with you first.

I have spent the last few weeks working on Craftroom Storage Solutions for my heat tool, hot glue gun, ribbon straighteners, embossing powders, ink refills etc. during the day and working on my website at night.

I have created my storage solutions from items I had in my craftroom and made:-

  • A fantastic storage solution for my heat tool, glue gun, glue sticks, embossing buddy and my little ribbon straighteners.
  • A holder so that I can store my coordinating 6" Designer Series Paper (DSP) and Memories and More cards together. Now I can see them I am using them a lot more.
  • Storage for my ink refills so that I can quickly find the ink refill I need.
  • Storage for my embossing powders.

Denim Tulips Card using Stampin' Up! products

Today's card is made using the fabulous Hostess Stamp Set Tranquil Tulips.  I have totally fallen in love with this stamp set, no matter what colour you use for the Tulips they always look beautiful.

I always use Thick Whisper White cardstock for my cardbases but Stampin' Up! have listened to their demonstrators and we now have Very Vanilla Thick cardstock and 12"x12" Very Vanilla cardstock in the 2017/2018 Annual catalogue.

Heat Embossed Wedding Cards

A couple of weeks ago we went to the wedding of 2 of our very good friends.  Four days before the wedding they came round and asked my husband Geoff if he would be Best Man and he told them he would be honoured.

On the morning of the wedding Geoff and I picked up the Groom and took him to the Registry Office.  The Bride looked stunning, her wedding dress was gorgeous and the ceremony was beautiful. On the day of the wedding it's normally the Bride who's nervous but the Groom was so nervous he got his name wrong. When the registrar said "can you say your name again but in the right order this time" he nearly got it wrong again.

I wanted to use my new stamp set Special Celebrations to make a wedding card for them.  This stamp set comes in 2 boxes and has sentiments for the front of the card as well as great verses for the inside.  As soon as I saw it in the catalogue I knew I needed it.

I love heat embossing, seeing it going shiny still fascinates me.  I decided to heat emboss the floral image and the floral border from the Floral Phrases stamp set.  I got a bit carried away with the heat embossing and ended up making 11 wedding cards, I shouldn't  run out of wedding cards for a while.

Fireplace Card - Carols of Christmas Bundle

Every year I set myself a goal to start making my Christmas cards early but I never do.  Are you the same?  I know Christmas is 5 months away but when Stampin' Up! announced the early release of the Carols of Christmas stamp set and coordinating Card Front Builder Thinlits Dies I knew it was a great opportunity for me to finally be able to achieve my goal.

The stamp set and dies are in the upcoming Autumn/Winter catalogue which goes live on September 1st but you can get your hands on them from August 1st.  You can also use your Bonus Days vouchers to purchase them.  You've got to love Stampin' Up! for their amazing promotions.

Carols of Christmas Bundle

When I first saw the dies I immediately thought one of the dies looked like a fireplace.  As soon as the dies arrived I started working on my fireplace card and this is what I came up with.  What do you think?

SSSC - Memory Box Frame

Thank you for joining us today for another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge Blog Hop.  This month instead of having a sketch challenge the lovely Hannah of Stampin' By Hannah has given us a colour challenge and these are the colours she chose:

Please continue the hop by clicking on the 'Next' or 'Previous' buttons at the bottom of this post.

I absolutely adore the new 2017/19 In Colors and Fresh Fig happens to be one of my favourites, it is so luxurious.  I had a look through my stamps for images I could use with these colours and decided to use the new Crafting Forever stamp set.

As this stamp set is craft related my idea was to have the scissors and the pot of paintbrushes on a worktop in a craft room.  For the 'wallpaper' I used a piece of Fresh Fig DSP from the new Fresh Florals DSP stack, there are 40 sheets of 12"x12" in this stack.

The Birthday Wishes Challenge Weekend

I've been waiting so long for today to come and I'm so excited it's finally here. "Why is today so exciting?" I hear you ask.  I am 1 of 6 U.K. demonstrators who are spending the day in London as VIP Guests at the Birthday Wishes Challenge kick-off event.  For me the best part of today is that the event is being held at Ronald McDonald Evelina House.

I feel so privileged being able to spend the day doing something to help the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) which is such a wonderful charity and doing something I love, making cards.

Beautiful Bookmarks - Pretty Label Punch Showcase

Thank you for joining me today for the final instalment of my Pretty Label Punch Showcase.  If you would like to see the other projects I have made using the Pretty Label punch click on the photos at the bottom of this post and you will be taken to the blog post.

When I was using the Pretty Label punch for the bottom of my screen card I came up with another use for the punch, it could be used for bookmarks.  I measured one of the punched labels and cut a piece of Whisper White Thick cardstock to 1-7/8" x 6-1/4".   At the top of the cardstock I measured 1/2" from the top on both sides and added a small pencil mark.  When I fed the cardstock through the punch I lined the pencil lines up on each side to make sure the top was straight before punching.
