Candy Cane Train - Christmas Train using Stampin' Up! products

A while ago I made a Halloween Train for The Pootler's Blog Hop that I was taking part in.  A lady called Maggie left a lovely comment for me on the blog post and she asked if I would make a Christmas Train? Christmas is my favourite time of year and I love a challenge so I said I would make the train.  I knew this would be lots of fun to make.  (Click here to see my Cookie Cutter Halloween Train or click here for the Halloween Train tutorial.)

I started working on the Christmas train in early October but earlier this year my Mother-in-Law asked me to make all her Christmas cards for her to send to family and friends and that has kept me really busy. I have finally managed to find some time to finish my Christmas Train, I really hope you like it Maggie.

Pokémon Pokéballs Christmas Card

When I was making my swaps for the Stampin' Up! OnStage event that I went to in Telford earlier this month I used the Jolly Hat Builder Punch to make Christmas hats for my UPS teddy bears.
Whilst putting together 60 hats I had a 'light bulb moment' about Pokémon Pokéballs with Santa hats. I told my hubby and daughter about my mad idea and they both said "Do it."

Why I joined Stampin' Up!

A while ago my upline, Sam Hammond, asked us to do a blog post on why each one of us joined Stampin' Up! but I wasn't ready to share my story with everyone at that time. Now I feel ready to share why I became a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.

How to Steampunk your Shoes

I love Stampin' Up! products but every now and then Stampin' Up! doesn't have the stamps I need.  Some of our friends love Steampunk and they have had birthdays over the last few months so I used Stampin' Up! products to make this card but I had to buy the stamps from Stampendous!

Nalini had a birthday coming up and I wanted to make a special steampunk shoes card for her.  The card I made had quite a bit of heat embossing but the end result was worth it.

Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge - October, 2016

Welcome to another Simply Sketched Saturday Challenge.  Today's sketch was designed by the lovely Sally, I can't wait to see what the ladies have created for the blog hop.  Please continue hopping by clicking on the 'Next' or 'Previous' button at the bottom of this post.

As soon as I saw the sketch I had an idea immediately so I grabbed a notebook and started sketching.  I knew this would be perfect for Sally's sketch so I went with the idea. After I saw Anna's beautiful Marina Mist Birthday card she made for last months challenge I decided this would be the colour I would use for this months challenge.  If you haven't seen Anna's card Click here and it will take you to her blog post.

Metallic Rose Cards

These are the 4 Roses I heat embossed with Silver, Gold, Platinum and Copper embossing powders.  The photo doesn't do them justice because they look stunning in real life.

I was going to put these Roses in a frame and put it in my craftroom but I decided to make them into cards instead.

Gold, Silver, Platinum and Copper Heat Embossing Comparison

Metallic colours are still really popular and I love images that have been heat embossed with metallic embossing powders, they look stunning.

Earlier this year I went to a papercraft show where I found a pot of Platinum embossing powder that had been reduced to £1.  I had Gold and Silver embossing powder and I knew Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder was one of the new products in the Stampin' Up! 2016/17 Annual Catalogue but I had never seen Platinum so I just had to buy it.

I have to confess, I did the heat embossing with the Gold, Silver, Platinum & Copper metallic embossing
