Pootler's Blog Hop - Sale-A-Bration

Hello and welcome to the Pootler's Blog Hop. The projects you will see in todays blog hop have been made using products in the Sale-A-Bration brochure.  I am really excited to be able to take part in todays blog hop and I can't wait to see what the other Pootler's who are taking part have created.

Sale-A-Bration is definitely the 'most wonderful time of the Stampin' Up! year' because for every £45 you spend (before shipping and handling) you get to choose a fabulous FREE gift from the Sale-A-Bration brochure. There is a great joining offer during Sale-A-Bration and hostesses will receive extra Stampin' Rewards with party sales of £200+ too.

Today I have 2 beautiful candles that I decorated using the Avant Garden and Delicate Details stamp sets.  When I first saw the Avant Garden stamp set in the brochure it wasn't one of those 'must have' products but after seeing a few projects made using the stamps Avant Garden went straight to the top of my 'must have' list.

Before Christmas I bought lots of large wax candles which I decorated with either a stamped image or a photograph and gave them as Christmas presents.  Everyone loved them but they all said "they are too lovely to burn".

Recently my husband bought home some real wax flameless candles from The Range and that got me wondering.  I had seen tutorials on transferring a stamped image onto a candle but I hadn't seen any tutorials where they transferred an image onto one of these.  I took the candles straight to my craftroom pulled out some white tissue paper and started stamping.  Could I transfer a stamped image onto these too?  I was so excited when I found I could, now I can give these as birthday presents knowing they will be used.

How I made my Luminaire's

On Saturday 14th January, 2017 I took part in the Pootler's Blog Hop which showcased some of the new products in the Spring/Summer catalogue.  Click here to see the blog hop.

The photo below shows the Luminaire I made for the blog hop using the So Detailed Thinlits Dies.  Several people have asked how I made it so I have typed this tutorial.

So Detailed Wedding Favours or Valentine Treats

I really love the new So Detailed Thinlits Dies from Stampin' Up!  The die-cuts are really beautiful and they can be used for so many things.  I used one of the dies to make my Luminaire's (click here for the luminaire's) and both of the smaller dies make beautiful belly bands.

I had been die-cutting several of the large floral image in different coloured cardstock to put on some card fronts when I had the idea they would look lovely as Wedding Favours or as Valentine's day is not too far away they could also be a Valentine's Treat.

The only sweets I had in the house to put in the Favour were Ferrero Rocher.  I measured the height of the die which was 2 5/8", the width of the die was just under 5 1/2" and the width of a Ferrero Rocher was approx. 1 1/2".

I cut a sheet of Real Red cardstock to 5 1/2" wide and left it at 11 5/8".  I scored the cardstock at 2 3/4" and 4 1/4" on the long side.

This die adds a score line just under the die-cut area so I aligned this with the 2 3/4" score line and secured it in place with Micropore tape.  I then placed the edge of the cutting pad in-line with the 2 3/4" score line and ran it through my Big Shot using the magnetic platform and the precision base plate.  I did this again on the 4 1/4" score line.  I used the Big Shot Die Brush to remove all the fallout pieces of cardstock.

*When using both the magnetic platform and the precision base plate together please be careful as it can pinch your skin between the two of them.*

Once both sides of the Favour was die-cut it was still slightly attached to the sheet of cardstock so I used my paper snips to cut along the score lines to release it.  I  used glue dots to secure the Ferrero Rocher's to the base of the Favour and tied it with gold ribbon.

I really enjoyed making this today and it looks so much better than I thought it would. Maybe you will make some too.

Have yourself some crafting fun.

1 Year Stampiversary and Giveaway!!

Today is my 1 year Stampiversary and it has been an exciting and amazing journey for me (Stampiversary - anniversary for a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator).

I had been thinking about becoming a demonstrator since midway through 2016 because I loved the thought of the 20% discount.  I was also really nervous because the thought of doing You Tube tutorials or going to someone's home to host a Stampin' Up! party scared me to bits (that's me putting it politely).

In November, 2016 my Mumsy lost her battle with Cancer and it made me realise how short life is and that I needed to bite the bullet and talk to someone to get more information on what being a demonstrator really means.
