Heat Embossed Wedding Cards

A couple of weeks ago we went to the wedding of 2 of our very good friends.  Four days before the wedding they came round and asked my husband Geoff if he would be Best Man and he told them he would be honoured.

On the morning of the wedding Geoff and I picked up the Groom and took him to the Registry Office.  The Bride looked stunning, her wedding dress was gorgeous and the ceremony was beautiful. On the day of the wedding it's normally the Bride who's nervous but the Groom was so nervous he got his name wrong. When the registrar said "can you say your name again but in the right order this time" he nearly got it wrong again.

I wanted to use my new stamp set Special Celebrations to make a wedding card for them.  This stamp set comes in 2 boxes and has sentiments for the front of the card as well as great verses for the inside.  As soon as I saw it in the catalogue I knew I needed it.

I love heat embossing, seeing it going shiny still fascinates me.  I decided to heat emboss the floral image and the floral border from the Floral Phrases stamp set.  I got a bit carried away with the heat embossing and ended up making 11 wedding cards, I shouldn't  run out of wedding cards for a while.

I used Gold Stampin' Emboss powder or Clear Stampin' Emboss powder with the Thick Very Vanilla cardstock and Silver Stampin' Emboss powder or Clear Stampin' Emboss powder with the Thick Whisper White cardstock.

The Metallic-Edge Ribbon is so lush.  The Very Vanilla ribbon has gold edges and the Whisper White ribbon has silver edges.  I think the ribbon adds that extra touch of elegance to the cards.  Do you?

For the card below I made a mistake when I was making it so I cut it to make 2 panels and added dimensionals to them.  I'm not sure if I really like it but I managed to save it.

I hope you like the cards I have shared with you today.

*When designing a project or when I CASE a project I always use my cheap cardstock to make a prototype before making it with my Stampin' Up! cardstock.   I do check the measurements I add to my blog posts but when typing lots of measurements mistakes can be made.  When making any project I recommend making it first with cheap cardstock before using your best cardstock.*
